High School Graduates

These extraordinary and talented members are apart of the Saint Mary Baptist Church Graduating Class of Spring 2018. Each are graduating in their respective areas of studies and schools or University. We are extremely proud of our high school & college members and wish them the best in their future endeavors.  We will be recognizing and honoring these graduates during our  Annual Scholarship and Graduate Recognition Program and the speaker will be Gregory Jackson, Criminal Investigator Deputy United States Marshal and a member of the Shreveport Violent Offender Task Force.

After Graduation: ​​Jaden will be attending University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the fall majoring in Kinesiology in hopes of becoming a sports medicine therapist.


CE Byrd Magnet High School

Accomplishments: Dorcas A. Brown is a 2018 graduate from C.E. Byrd High School Math & Science Program. She graduated within the top 100 of her class of 462. She received the following honors: for Academic Excellence for GPA- 4.1, Excelling  in Math & Science Magnet Program, BETA Club honor for community service hours over 100 hours of service, and  President's Service Award - second time winning this honor(conducted over 200 hours of service).  She is active within the church Youth Department and has participated in the following activities: November 2017- Veteran’s Day Celebration; December 2017-Harmony House Christmas Visit, Donation & Giveaway; February 2018- Black History Program; April 2018- Easter /Resurrection Day Celebration                  

​​After Graduation: She has been accepted to LSUS and will pursue a B.S. in degree for Secondary Education in Mathematics. She enjoys math and wants to teach it to other students.  She plans to teach in Caddo Parish. She realized her calling for teaching in the 6th grade and wants to help students who attend low performing schools with Math.
